The Ocean as a Classroom
Bodysurf sessions for schools and youth programmes
where kids swap the classroom for the shoreline, and learn the sea the way
it’s meant to be learned: with their own bodies, no board between them and the wave.
Two Ways to Bring Us In

Whether you want something regular through the term or a one-off morning by the sea, we shape the session around your group.

Extra-Curricular Activity
Through the term, a recurring bodysurf activity that runs alongside the school year. Same group, week after week — so the kids build real confidence in the water and a genuine connection to the ocean over time.

Summer ATL Days
A morning, a day Perfect for ATL programmes and summer schemes. A single session — half-day or full-day — where a group meets the sea, learns to read the waves, and goes home a little braver than they came.

Why Bodysurf?

Surfing puts a board between a child and the wave. Bodysurf takes it away. It’s the most direct way to meet the ocean, and the most natural for young bodies still learning how the sea moves.

Safe by design
We stay in shallow, controlled water with a low instructor-to-student ratio. No heavy equipment, no deep water — just the gentlest part of the sea, with eyes on every child.

More than a sport
Reading waves, respecting the ocean, trusting your own body. The kids come away with water confidence and a respect for the sea that stays with them.

Something different
Most schools have done the surf trip. Almost none have done bodysurf. It’s a memorable, standout activity — and a story the kids actually tell when they get home.

Let’s Bring Your Group to the Sea
Find your wave.

Tell us about your school or programme and we’ll put together something that fits. No commitment — just a conversation.
Bodysurf is riding the wave with your own body, with no board involved. That is exactly what makes it work so well for a group of children: there is no board to balance on, nothing hard to master and nothing to fall off, so students get into real waves quickly and safely, whatever their level.
Yes. Because bodysurf uses no boards, it is one of the gentlest ways to bring a group into the ocean. Sessions are led by experienced instructors, younger children stay in shallow water close to the shore, and we shape the level and the setting around the group in front of us.
We work with a wide range of ages and adapt every session to the group. Whether the students are very young or older and more confident, we build the session around their age and their comfort in the water.
We run after-school bodysurf activities and one-off ATL events across a morning or a full day. Each programme is shaped around your group: their age, their numbers and what you want them to take from the experience.
Everything in the water is included: handplane, swim fins and wetsuit, plus coaching for the full session. Students bring swimwear, a towel, sun protection and warm clothes for afterwards.
For school programmes there is no fixed beach. We come to a beach that works for your school, as close to you as the conditions allow. For example, we run sessions with schools at Carcavelos. Every programme is led by Henrique, our founder and a national bodysurf vice-champion, together with the team.
Sessions for schools are tailored to your group, so there is no fixed price. Tell us the age group, rough numbers and what you have in mind, and we will put together a proposal. Get in touch to start the conversation.
